The Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing at HELP University was set-up to support mental health and wellbeing through research, training and thought leadership. Originally established in collaboration with the Malaysian Mental Health Association, the centre now focuses on developing strategies and programmes to bolster mental health and wellbeing among diverse age groups while opening up the conversation around mental health in Malaysia.
As a think-tank, the centre anticipates and addresses emerging challenges and opportunities in mental health and wellbeing in the workplace and the community at large. Research by the centre over preceding years has examined conceptualisations of mental health among adolescents, mental health support during pregnancy in expecting mothers, and contributing factors to mental health within the workplace.
The centre continues to provide outreach services and psychoeducation with the aim of reducing stigma and increasing mental health literacy within the region.
